We are proud to be supported by an amazing group of dedicated volunteers. To join this team and make a real difference to peoples' lives take a look at the roles we currently have available.

Shopmobility Centre Volunteer

We provide manual and powered wheelchairs and electric scooters to help people who have limited mobility to shop and use city centre facilities. Our volunteers ensure customers are welcomed and that all equipment meets their needs. Day to day duties include taking payments, entering information onto our database, collecting scooters to give to customers and dealing with enquiries on the phone and in person. Days and hours each week are flexible, some volunteers do half a day and others do 3 days per week, its up to you. We are a very friendly helpful bunch and our customer satisfaction results back this up, as 100% of customers are happy with our service (Customer Experience Survey, 2019).

Community Car Driver Volunteer

If you are a good driver and enjoy helping people then this could be right up your street. We provide transport for disabled and older people to be able to get out and about in Plymouth. Journeys to the shops, lunch clubs, hairdressers, GP and hospital appointments are just some of the regular trips our customers need. These trips are more than just a means of getting from A to B, you will offer an arm to lean on, a friendly smile with conversation and a vital lifeline for some of the most vulnerable people in Plymouth. You must have your own car and a full DBS check is required.
